Rationale

The armiger has been involved as a member of Scouting since he was six years old and continues to be an adult volunteer. The tinctures are chosen as they are those found on the badge of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (Purpure and Argent).

The Fleur-de-Lys is an nod to the Scout Arrowhead and also to Our Lady to whom the Armiger has an especial devotion.

The Cross is a symbol of his Christian Faith.

The Crest is based upon his love of cats.

The Badge is a Maltese Cross which is quartered like the Cross in the shield and fimbriated Or to aid its recognition.
