Rationale
Arms: The ermine represents the armiger's connection with Clan Henderson. The fleur-de-lis characterize the ideas of moving onward and upward or overcoming adversity and striving for better. The heart symbolizes passion, compassion and empathy. All things taught to the armiger by his late mother. It also speaks to his interest in public service and desire to be a counselor. The trefoils represent the armiger's interest in DNA genealogy. Not only is it a nod to his Irish ancestors it also represents a DNA research project he belong to.
Crest: The lion is taken from the upper quadrant of the Welsh house of Aberffraw's coat of arms, and symbolizes the armiger's direct familial connection with the Isle of Anglesey where his male line immigrated to Chicago from. The books symbolize both an interest in history and genealogy. The thistle is a nod to his Scottish ancestry and love for traditional Scottish music, which he plays on the bagpipes.
