Biographical information

Deacon Lujan was born August 29, 1922 in Portland, Fremont County, Colorado, USA. He served in the US Army Signal Corps during World War II. When he returned home he married his hometown sweetheart, Aurelia (Rae) Angel, on April 18, 1947, at St. Benedict Parish in Florence, Colo. They had seven sons (Edward Jr., Charles, Richard, Daniel, Michael, Josepeh, and Lawrence), three girls (Therese, Judith and Louise), 25 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.

He was ordained a permanent deacon at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Denver on April 2, 1977. He retired from active ministry in 1997.
