Biographical information
I was born December 22, 1961 at Edwards AFB, California to Gail Harrison Murrell and Charlotte Lee Holmes, the oldest of three daughters; Cynthia Denise Murrell Miller and Leslie Colleen Murrell Mueggenburg. I grew up in Sacramento California, graduating from Del Campo High School in 1980 and attending California State University at Sacramento before joining the United States Navy in 1982.
I served in the US Navy in Anti-Submarine Warfare squadrons (VP-31 and VP-46) stationed at NAS Moffett Field in Mountain View, California. I was an Anti-Submarine Warfare Technician working on Lockheed P3 Orion aircraft. I separated from the US Navy in 1986 as a Petty Officer Second Class after completing one tour overseas to Diego Garcia.
After working in the computer sales industry in Southern California I moved to Oregon in 1989. I changed industries and opened my insurance agency in 1992. My agency has continued to grow and prosper in Cornelius Oregon since that time.
I graduated from Marylhurst University in Lake Oswego Oregon in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies degree with a concentration in Religious Studies. I have been a Stephen Minister, serving those people in crisis, in my home church, the Forest Grove United Church of Christ, since 1997.
