AKA Hugo Frederick Swanstrom. Cabinet Maker. Born 1886 Sweden, died 1971 California. Descendant of Life Grenadier Jonas Svanström (1754—1811), who lived at Åkershagen in Gärdserum, Kalmar, Sweden.

Design rationale

The Swedish surname Svanström means "river of the swans." The arms show three swans beside a river.

Historical note

It has not been possible to date the arms. The arrangement of three charges is so typically an English form, the arms were probably assumed after the family came to the US in 1891 — assumed probably about 1914 and certainly before 1942.
