Biographical information

He was born into a Huguenot family near LaRochelle, France in 1664. He emigrated to England and later to America. He was in New York in 1698, when he married Elizabeth Bryan, daughter of a wealthy merchant. They settled soon after in Derby, Connecticut, where he died in 1727.
